Intro to Crazy Love

One of the things I wanted to do when I got to Nyack College was find a small group that I could join. There were so many different small groups out there from all girls or all guys groups to scrapbooking groups but I find one that took an interest to me. The small group that I have joined is doing a series over author, speaker, and pastor Francis Chan and his book Crazy Love: Overwhelmed By A Relentless God. I always wanted to read his book but never had the time to but after hearing about this small group I was totally hooked on. In the next few blogs I will be sharing with you what I have learned or been touched by from this book. I hope that through my experiences you might pick up this book too. Let just say that the book is great so far.

Hi Everybody!

Thanks for coming to my blog and taking time to read what I have to say.

I just wanted to tell you little bit about myself. First off I am a freshman at Nyack College in Nyack, New York. I am currently majoring in Early Childhood and Childhood Education with a concentration in TESOL. I love children and have a passion in teaching them so my goal and dream is to become a teacher.

I love God, my family and friends, sports, the outdoors, music, reading, the color green, pandas, golden retrievers, and the beach.

I started this blog so I can share with you what God has been teaching me so far. I will let you know how college is going, anything that spoke to me, and prayer requests.

One of the reasons I chose to call my blog Soar High is because of my favorite Bible verses from Isaiah 40.

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40: 28-31

Whenever I am struggling, stressed, tired, or discouraged I can always open up the Bible to Isaiah 40, read these verses, and feel the calmness of God come upon me. This is pretty much the verse for my life and I am always encouraged by it.
